Being Organised

I spoke briefly on the 1st of January about The Organised Mum method, but I cant tell you what an impact it has had on my day to day life.

To be honest, I don’t think you really need the book, you can get everything you need from the web site, following Gemma on Instagram and joining the FaceBook Group. But for me, the best part is the App.

I do love a to do list, and having a customisable cleaning schedule on my phone has been a game changer. During the renovations on the house I got so bogged down with trying to keep it clean and tidy that I actually gave up. So when we’d finally finished, there was just so much to do. The Organised Mum has a Bootcamp to help you get on top of the clutter and cleaning before you start the maintenance plan. I managed to do that during lockdown last year, so now, everything is super easy to keep up with.

I’ll admit, I’m a bit of a hoarder, a clutterer…which makes cleaning quite difficult. But I’ve discovered (its only taken 30 odd years) that having my environment clean and tidy really lifts my mood. I’ve always been a fan of having a house, what I call “visitor ready” 24/7 and in the past I have achieved that (in previous houses). But I lost my way a bit in recent years, especially in this house and with my condition. As if lockdown isn’t bad enough, being trapped between 4 walls that bring you down sucks.

So now, having the house ready for a viewing is so simple, we can show someone around within minutes notice. This takes a huge amount of pressure off me (reducing stress), and I don’t need to go into panic mode every time the estate agent calls.

And now, I’m off to complete my Levels 1’s…#teamtomm all the way
